Overview
Infinite Me ("we," "us," "the Company") is a GPS running app where your real-world running routes become claimed territory on a live map. This policy explains what data we collect through the app (play.8me.in and the native Android app), why we collect it, and how you can control or delete it.
By using Infinite Me, you agree to the collection and use of your data as described below.
Data We Collect
Location Data
We collect precise and approximate GPS location data while you have an active run in progress, including while the app is running in the background (e.g. your screen is locked or you've switched to another app). This is the core data that powers the app — your route is used to calculate distance, pace, and the territory your run claims on the map.
Location tracking only occurs during a run you have explicitly started, and stops automatically when you end the run.
Fitness Data
We calculate and store distance, pace, duration, and route history generated from your tracked runs. This powers leaderboards, your run history, and territory ownership status.
Activity Recognition
We use Android's activity recognition permission to detect whether you're moving or stationary during a run, so we can adjust GPS polling frequency — saving battery when you're paused and improving accuracy while you're moving. This data is used in real time and is not stored separately.
Account Data
We use Google Sign-In to authenticate your account. We collect the email address associated with your Google account for account creation and login.
Device & Notification Data
We collect a device-specific push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you alerts — for example, when someone steals your territory, or a reminder if you haven't run in a while.
Strava Data (optional)
If you choose to connect your Strava account, we import your run activities from Strava to create territory, and may send future run data to Strava on your behalf. This only happens if you explicitly connect your account — it is never done automatically.
How We Use It
| Data type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Location (GPS) | Core app functionality — recording your run and claiming territory |
| Fitness data | Leaderboards, run history, territory status |
| Activity recognition | Improve GPS accuracy and save battery during a run |
| Email address | Account creation, login, and account management |
| Device/notification token | Sending territory and activity notifications |
| Strava data | Optional sync, only if you connect your account |
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.
Sharing Your Data
We do not share your personal data with third parties, with two exceptions:
- Strava — only if you explicitly connect your account, to enable run syncing.
- Legal requirements — if required to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or respond to a valid request from a public authority.
We use third-party infrastructure providers (Railway for our backend/database, Hostinger for our website, Firebase for authentication and push notifications) to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
Retention
We retain your account and run data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems within 7 business days, except where residual copies remain briefly in encrypted backups.
Territory you've claimed that gets overlapped or claimed by another runner after your account is deleted will remain part of the shared map, but will no longer be attributed to you.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Visit our Account Deletion page for instructions, or email us directly using the contact details below.
You may also contact us to request a copy of the data we hold about you, or to correct inaccurate information.
Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypting data in transit (HTTPS) between the app and our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Infinite Me is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
